Tumble Town is live (Wild West dice)
Tumble Town has launched on Kickstarter, and the campaign will run for 30 days. You may either back at the PnP level, or get a copy of the game, or get it together with a playmat. If you have money to spend, you can also name one of the horse cards.
Our preview post below was published on February 22.
Tumble Town is a 1-4 player set collection and engine building game in which you are trying to build the best town in the Old West. It is launching on Kickstarter on February 25.
In Tumble Town, you take on the role of the mayor of a community. You will choose a building plan and start constructing buildings to rival the towns of your opponents. Each building plan requires different materials, and also lets you mine a specific material (represented by dice). When you build something, it grants you bonuses (dice manipulation) to use in your next construction.
In the solo mode, you have to make sure your town is better than the Outlaw's, and stop him from stealing your townspeople's dice (he comes in three difficulty levels).
Liz Davidson has filmed a solo playthrough:
Ha, nice. The automoton looks tough, but I really liked the dice manipulation options. Definitely going to support this game. Might have to stick with easy mode for the A.I.
Solo playthrough video added! :)
I hope they put out a gameplay video, but I have a feeling I'll be supporting this game. Having the dice represent buildings looks like a cool mechanic.
