Watch your Back: Week May 1 to 7
Finally, a relatively quiet week with just four planned game launches. Let's see what they are.
***
Euthia: Torment of Resurrection is going to receive an expansion called Fierce Powers. The Euthia base game is a massive sandbox-style 1-4 player overland crawler that can be played competitively or cooperatively/solo. You pick a character, equip them with weapons and skills, and set out to explore the land and fight enemies. The new expansion comes with new scenarios, monsters, map tiles, and a new hero. It is launching on Gamefound on May 2.
Personal opinion: The game is too big in terms of content for me but it sure looks enticing. If I had enough spare time, I might consider it.
***
Then we have Keresis: Quest for the Elements. This is a 1-4 player tile laying game in which you are a tribe leader trying to guide your tribe to lost shrines. You will be playing matching cards to place tiles on the board, sending soldiers and shamans to locations to collect resources, and invading the territories of your opponents. Solo rules haven't been revealed yet. It is launching on Kickstarter on May 3.
Personal opinion: I don't see anything of interest here.

Slavic lore-inspired cooperative adventure game Zerywia returns to Kickstarter on May 3 with a reprint and an expansion. You are playing as a hero who travels across the land to acquire parts of their personal saga. The game can be played as a campaign or as standalone episodes, and encounters are resolved by rolling dice.
Personal opinion: I like the looks of the game quite a lot but I'll wait for Zerbique to tell us if it's a good game once he receives it.

And last, according to Zerbique, Cards of the Dead: The Board Game is launching on May 4. This appears to be a 1-3 player deck building game set in a zombie apocalypse. That's all we know about it so far. We don't even have a picture.
Personal opinion: I generally like survival games but if the video game by the same name is an indication, the card game will have pixel art which means I'm out.
Pocket Landship reprint + No Man's Land expansion just launched out of the blue too! Yes!
Launched today as well:
Dungeon makers
A tile-laying game where you build a dungeon maze. You are against an AI in that one.
Camouflage
This is strictly a puzzle game in which you must overlap tiles to reproduce a pattern. There are 50 such puzzle cards in the box.
Avalonia
A skirmish game with giant creepy minis and nightmarish artwork.
By the way, I'll do my best to write either a full Table Presence post or at least a "Now playing" lounge post about Euthia by the end of the campaign!
(I think it's sensible for me to at least try the game before getting a crazy amount of new content.)
I'm in for the new content for Zerywia. I successfully resisted Euthia the first time around. That picture looks tempting so I'll check out the page when it launches but I'll probably resist because I have other adventure games to play first and it will probably take up too much space on my shelf.
Oh... Terrible week for me. I want all three!!!
Honestly it will be hard to pass on expansion contents. Even though I have still proved unable to play my base game of Euthia (the scope of it is truly daunting), and I have yet to received my all-in pledge of Zerywia from the first campaign...
As for Keresis, I love tile-laying and maze-building. If the price is OK I'm likely to get it.
Hmm. I don't quite see how I can back all of it, financially speaking. Euthia especially looks like it will cost something like 150€ (speaking only of the new contents). Zerywia is better priced this time (I mean, the new contents, the All-In will be pretty expensive,…
