Up & Away is live
Up & Away is a 1-6 player engine building game in which you are taking part in a flying machine race. It is live on Kickstarter, and the campaign will run for 29 days. You may back the standard edition of the game or add deluxe components (plastic aircrafts). The 'collector' pledge also gets you two expansions: Doch and Mihangyl.
In the solo mode, you play against an artificial opponent. You first set up the board and pick a pilot, an aircraft and an engine. You give the AI its own engine. Then, you create two decks of 8 gear cards and keep the first deck as your starting hand (the other deck is for the second round). On your turn, you select a gear card and place it in your engine. This activates the gear and lets you take the designated action (place tokens on the map, move, earn prestige or shift the map tiles). When you finish your turn, you take a gear card at random and give it to the AI. The AI performs the given action. Gameplay continues until both decks run out. You win if you gain the most prestige points.
