Arkeis is live (Steampunk mummies)
Update: Arkeis is live on Kickstarter, and the campaign will run for 22 days. Since this is a legacy game, you have the option to add a reset kit to your pledge, as well as a playmat, extra dice, metal coins and an extra character expansion.
Our preview post below was published on November 1.
Arkeis is a 2-4 player cooperative adventure legacy game (it seems to be easily playable solo double handed). The Kickstarter campaign will launch on November 5.
You play as a member of an archaeology team in Egypt. Your goal is to find evidence that the ancient Egyptians had discovered steam technology. This means that pyramids have to be searched, traps be avoided, and wandering mummies be put back to sleep. The game is played as a campaign. Each time you complete a mission and find clues, you will be adding stickers to the designated sheet. Completing an objective gives the players rewards and upgrades.
On each turn, characters may perform up to two actions such as move, search, aid an ally, and fight an enemy. They will be gaining items and skills along the way, and these will be stored in their individual backpacks which serve as the game's save system. The board is modular and comprised of several cardboard rooms, Ice Cool-style.
And of course, there will be minis.
