Solitaire Times is one year old! Celebrate with us and win games!
It was around this time last year that I semi-jokingly discussed the idea of a solo games website with JW, and he didn't change the subject. Hundreds of posts later, here we are, (relatively) pleased with our work, hoping we can grow and improve.
We would like to thank our readers from the bottom of our hearts. The hardcore ones who read us every day with religious fervor, and the casual ones, who grace us with their presence from time to time. Since we are not sponsored in any way, what we have to offer as a giveaway is small solo games. That we played. But they are in 'like new', excellent condition.
All you have to do to enter the contest, is leave us a comment here, replying to the question:
'Who is your favourite solo game character (and why)?'
The contest will run until (and including) Wednesday, August 19. Two winners will be announced on Friday 21, one chosen at random from the comments below this post, the other from comments on our Facebook post. The winners will pick one out of these six games:
1. Pulp Detective with the Double Cross expansion
2. Mint Delivery with playmat
3. Crypt
5. Multiuniversum with the Project Cthulhu expansion
Thank you all, and good luck!
John Smallberries, my Human Sorcerer in D100 Dungeon...many a giant rat had fallen to the mediocre spell casting of this beloved hero...if only he was better at fighting giant spiders...eww...spiders. (shiver, shiver).
note: this was moved to here from a prior post...i guess reading is fundamental.
Not an actual character, but I really enjoy being the airship builder in Aerion. Feels like a job I'd like.
Congratulations! You're the first place I come for solo gaming news!
I'm going to try and be spoiler free on this, but there is a character in Gloomhaven that comes with two miniature boxes. That is my favourite character because they are so unique and so much fun. Their sol scenario is a blast as well. If you want more details, send me a message and I'll spoil everything or you, ha!
Wow! One year already!
Time flies.
Congrats!
I'll answer on the website, but here as well. My favorite character is the Negotiator from Hostage Negotiator. He's calm, methodic, trying to adapt and find a best solution. A bit like me :)
Congratulations!
My favourite solo game character is Captain Nemo from Nemo's War (second edition). He is a lone wolf trying to survive against the world's greatest powers. This captures the atmosphere of both Jules Verne's original book and my favorite Alan Moore's comic "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen".
