burncycle is live (Robo-infiltration)

Update: burncycle is live on Kickstarter and the campaign will run for just 9 days. You may back the standard edition of the game, or bundle it up with The Specialist Bot pack and BioDefend Corporation. If you feel like splurging, there is also the super Deluxe all-in with minis, stories, more neoprene mats and a draw bag.

Our preview post below was published on November 6.

burncycle is a 1-4 player cooperative action point and dice rolling game in which you play as robots trying to take down evil human corporations. It will launch on Kickstarter on November 10.

After humanity went extinct, robots inherited Earth. They restored nature and made the planet habitable again, and eventually decided to bring back the humans. That proved to be a mistake. The humans abused their power and forced the robots into subjugation. In burncycle, you take on the role of these oppressed robots. Your goal is to fight against the humans and free the robot population from their shackles.

The game comes with 4 different corporations that the robots will try to infiltrate. You not only have to get in and complete your objective, but will also have to manage to get out. A big neoprene mat will serve as a generic building layout, and then, for each different corporation, you will be placing smaller mats showing rooms on top of it. Gameplay revolves more around stealth than combat, which would preferably be your last resort. You will be trying to sneak into the offices, hide from guards, and create distractions so that you can pass through unnoticed.

You will be interfering with terminals and hacking the security systems but the corporations will be shutting down each terminal the robots get access to, so you have to work fast and smart. The guards are represented by chips and will follow specific routes, although some may be rolling dice for their direction and therefore be unpredictable. Whenever you are spotted or an alarm goes off, the threat level will go up. One gaming session will likely require you to complete one floor but you will also be able to play a story-driven campaign. This is all the information we have for now, more is expected when the Kickstarter goes live.
