2GM Pacific is a 1-4 player card game that recreates the conflict between American and Japanese forces in WWII. This is a standalone expansion to Draco Ideas' previous game, 2GM Tactics. It will launch on Kickstarter on December 3.
The game comes with a board on which the two sides will place their units. On each turn, you gain action points from the headquarters, your cards' abilities, and the combination with other cards (supply lines). Your can move your cards on the board, and use action points to deploy units and support cards. In the combat phase, you fire against enemy units within range: you roll a die, and check if the result is greater than the enemy's defense. If you get a critical hit, the enemy unit is eliminated.
The game comes with a campaign book of historical scenarios, so you can play in the setting of Iwo Jima, Tarawa, the Philippines etc. The solo rules in 2GM Tactics weren't very well-received, but the company announced they have reworked them. The new solo mode will be revealed when the Kickstarter begins, and it will be also applicable to 2GM Tactics.
