Capital Lux 2: Generations is live (New citizens in the Capital)
Capital Lux 2: Generations is live on Kickstarter, and the campaign will run for 14 days. There is only one pledge option for the game, and metal coins as an add-on.
Our preview post below was published on May 15.
Capital Lux 2: Generations is a soloable sequel to the Capital Lux sci-fi-themed card game. It will launch on Kickstarter on May 19.
In Capital Lux 2, you are managing members of four different factions (the Rebels, the Spirituals, the Nobles, and the Scientists), and deciding which ones to send to the Capital and which to keep in your Home Base. In the multiplayer mode, players are drafting a hand of six cards, and then choose to either play one card in the middle of the table, in the Capital, or place it in their Home Base. Cards sent to the Capital are placed under their matching colour and trigger the power effect of the corresponding Power tile. Cards kept in the Home Base may give victory points in the end. The game lasts for 3 rounds, and the player with the highest score wins.
In the solo mode, you are playing against an automated opponent called Rob. You will give Rob a hand of citizen cards and a Home Base, and in every round, Rob will play a card from his AI deck. The cards in Rob's deck tell you which citizen cards to draw for him and where they should be placed (Capital or Home Base). After 3 rounds, you compare your score against Rob's.

Thanks for the info about the artist & shoutout about the absence of those inspiring and provocative drawings from the whole game. I was going to buy this game just for those drawings but ur warning made me take a step back and I kept my money where it belongs (: thanks again..
Kwanchai Moriya has become a big name in the games industry. I wouldn't be surprised if his illustrations are pricey.

I wanted to add that, if you love the art, they offer a good deal for Rebel Nox, one of their previous games in the Capital Lux, in the pledge manager tied to the campaign... But after checking it out, it turns out that it relies on the exact same character art as Capital Lux 2!
The artist is good, no doubt, but he/she must be awfully expensive....
Regarding the artwork, however, I'd like to stress that, besides the 5 characters portraits shown here, there is no other. All cards are the same. You have four factions plus rebels and all cards from these five stacks have the same artwork. So you've already seen it all...
super inspiring drawings on those cards!! Utterly interested (:
