Journey's End is an expansion for the 1-4 player dice rolling and risk management game Nemo's War (Second Edition). It will launch on Kickstarter on November 24.

Nemo's War is a (first and foremost solitaire) game inspired by Jules Verne's 'Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea'. Depending on Captain Nemo's motive, you will be sailing the oceans with your submarine, Nautilus, with the aim to explore natural wonders, attack ships, and assist anti-imperialist revolts.

This new expansion comes with an updated rulebook, a 2 player versus mode (Nemo vs. Imperialists), new Adventure cards, new Finale cards (The Trap, The Kraken, Scientific Espionage, Imperialists' Catspaw), and a new level of victory (Notable) between Inconsequential and Success.

It also includes 2 new motives for Captain Nemo (Piracy and World Order), and a new storyline featuring Nemo's son, Nadeen Dakkar.

The Kickstarter campaign will give backers the chance to obtain everything released for the game so far, like the previous expansion packs and the base game itself.

My appreciation for the true solo game began with Nemo's War. The high degree of inherent randomness in this game might be off-putting if you don't fancy dice rolling, but personally, I found the push-your-luck mechanic truly fascinating, engaging, and entertaining.

At some point I got tired of it because it runs long, and I'm not a huge fan of dice. It has a lot of mitigation, though, so you never feel at the mercy of luck.

Was on the fence during the previous KS, guess I'll be on the fence again this time.

It sounds like a good chance if you want to dive deep (go all-in), yes. Since you enjoy dice rolling, I think you will enjoy it. :)

This game is often brought up as a solitaire recommendation. I don't have the game or any expansions. Maybe this Kickstarter is my chance to dive in.
