Mint Control is live
The 1-4 player area control game, Mint Control, is live on Kickstarter, and the campaign will run for 24 days. You may back for just Mint Control or add one or more games from the Mint series (Mint Works, Mint Delivery, Mint Cooperative).
In Mint Control, players are owners of mint making companies competing for control of the market in Mintopia City.
To play the game, you first place location cards on the table so that there are at least five influence tokens spaces per player, and also place the five action tiles. You begin with two mints as starting currency, as well as five influence tokens. On your turn, you select one of the action tiles and perform the designated action. The other players then perform the same action but not the 'Perk'. Gameplay continues until all the tiles have been chosen. The game ends when a player manages to place all their influence tokens on the locations. Players gain victory points for each location they control, and whoever has the most points, wins.
The game includes one double-sided solo AI card that pits you against the designer Justin or the vendor Ranchel.
Personally I have only enjoyed playing Mint Works solo. So I'll print this one to try out first (it is available for free on PNP Arcade, just like the other Mint games).
It is indeed a successful gimmick. :D
I love little tin games. I can't defend myself, I'll buy them just based on the fact that they fit in a little tin.
