Nemesis: Lockdown is live (Lockdown on Mars)
Update: Nemesis: Lockdown is live on Kickstarter and the campaign will run for 20 days. You may back just the new expansion, or get the Nemesis base game plus the Aftermath and Voidseeders expansions. Two more bundles are available: one that includes Lockdown, Aftermath, Voidseeders, Carnomorphs and the Medic exclusive character, and one that includes all previous expansions and the base game.
Our preview post below was published on May 21.
Nemesis: Lockdown is a standalone expansion to the 1-5 player sci-fi adventure game, Nemesis. It is planned to launch on Kickstarter on May 28.
The Lockdown expansion takes place inside a laboratory on Mars. Movement will be done on two levels connected via elevators and stairs. When power is cut off, you or the aliens may be trapped inside the elevators. The absence of light in the rooms may also affect the accuracy of shooting with weapons.
The game comes with new characters and a new alien race, but if you wish to play with characters and enemies from the Nemesis base game or the Voidseeders and Carnomorphs expansions, some cross-over may be possible.
The 'red alert' mechanism will make some orders (e.g. 'nuke the station') active and others inactive, and finding out which are the active ones will require you to gather information and work by trial and error. A companion app will give you the chance to play the game solo with a hidden traitor (you won't know if you can trust what the app tells you).
This Kickstarter campaign will offer everything released for Nemesis so far except the language editions for the core game. The core game in English, all expansions, exclusives and add-ons will be available to purchase. You may check the Kickstarter preview.
I have doubts about buying the 'same' (w/ minor changes) game w/ different environment..
Lockdown will be a complete game in itself, so I think the value is there. My own 'problem' is that I haven't played the previous content enough to justify buying more...
Hmmmm, I think I won't buy this one just for the 'joy' of transferring my characters from Nemesis to Lockdown (:
No, Lockdown takes place in a laboratory on Mars, not the Nemesis spaceship.
So there is no adding expansion board to the original one?
