Momiji is live (Gather autumnal leaves in Japanese gardens)

Update: Momiji has launched on Kickstarter and the campaign will run for 22 days. You may back either the standard or the Deluxe edition of the game (it comes with upgraded components and an expansion). Three extra modules are available as add-ons.

In the solo mode, you will follow the setup instructions of the 'Cold Breeze' scenario and try to fulfill 3 different victory conditions.

Our preview post below was published on November 28.

Momiji is a 1-4 player hand management and set collection game in which you try to fulfill objectives by collecting valuable leaf cards. It will launch on Kickstarter on December 1.

Each player in Momiji has a lanscape panorama in front of them, with each tile granting them special powers. They also start with a hand of 6 leaf cards. On each turn, a player can either take all leaves of one type from the central market (and spend an acorn token to reveal new leaf cards), or play leaf cards from their hand into their tableau, or activate an objective token: they spend 3 acorns to activate an objective valid for all the players.

The powers of the landscape tiles give bonuses when activated, and players can also discard cards in exchange for acorns. When the leaf deck is empty the game ends, and players proceed to scoring. Solo rules are expected when the campaign goes live.

Honestly, it is too much unused content for a game I would get 90% for solo. I backed Aqua Garden.

This style of game is very much a miss for the people I play with on average. I am fine with it, but stuff like Morels never lands hot.

I have several beautify nature and/or relaxing theme solos that also fit this for me. Pencil First Games has probably 4 I rate EXTREMELY high for solo and multiplayer (Herbaceous, Sprouts, Sunset, and Whatnot Cabinet). So as much as I like the gameplay, my shelf of shame has enough 2020 weight on

Travis, did you back it in the end?

I'm a bit disappointed that there is only one solo scenario for now, while the others are locked as stretch goals.

Also, I'm not sure all of the extra contents will be in any way compatible with the solo mode.

Anyway, I like leaves, so I'm still tempted of course.

Another beautiful, possible zen, soloable game? Right up my alley. I will back it if the solo rules are decent.

Thanks for the awareness.
