Kleos is live (Fame and Glory)
Update: Kleos has launched on Kickstarter and the campaign will run for 23 days. At the moment there is only one pledge tier open, that gets you a copy of the game ('Choose your own epic hero' option closed).
The FAQ section in the campaign says that the solo scenarios will become available online, and all you need to play them will be inside the box.
Kleos is a 1-5 player dice rolling and hand management game about Olympian gods competing for fame and glory (what 'kleos' means in ancient Greek). It is launching sometime later today.
In Kleos, you play as either Athena, Ares, Artemis, Hermes or Dionysus. Your goal is to become the patron god of the city of Kleos, and you will achieve this if your army defeats the forces of your opponent(s). Each of the gods plays differently: they have their own champion, and their own deck of cards. At the start of the game, you get a hand consisting of two cards specific to your god, four cards from the Fates main deck, and one card from the god's Divine deck. Then, in the Deployment phase, you choose minions from your hand and put them into play.
In the Play phase, you play cards from your hand, and in the Action phase your minions on the board can take 2 actions (move, attack, or recruit an epic minion from the Greek Isles). At the end of the round, you draw back up to your hand size, tally up the score from the board, and continue with the next round. At the end of the fifth round, the game is over, and the player with the most Glory wins.
Kleos comes with solo scenarios which haven't been revealed yet. You may check the Kickstarter preview.
Looking forward to it, Jim!
Thank you so much for the coverage! I am Kleos' designer, and I am happy to answer any questions about the game. : )
We will be releasing a solo playthrough video of the first scenario early next week! Also, we plan to have some fun with the community and create a solo scenario together. Feel free to follow and join the adventure! We are having a lot of fun with this Kickstarter and would love to have you along for the ride.
Yes, wait and see the scenarios first. It may work well in solo, but I wouldn't trust it blindly.
That's look like a game I would like to back... But there is no solo version mentioned in the rulebook, and a glimpse at the game box in the video displays a 2-5 players indication. But I'll definitely have a look at the scenarios.
