The Whatnot Cabinet is a 1-4 player tile-laying and set collection game about arranging objects in a cabinet of curiosities. It will launch on Kickstarter on June 2. (Update June 1: launch postponed).
Each player has a board with a grid, their cabinet, that they have to fill with tiles. Columns and rows score points at the end of the game, and in order to earn points, you have to follow specific arrangement rules. Each column scores 4 points if all the tiles in it are of the same colour. It scores fewer points, if you place tiles of a different colour each. Any other assortment doesn't score. Rows require that you place the same type of items in them, e.g. all sea shells. Again, if all tiles are different you get less points.
On each turn, four tiles are pulled out from a bag and placed on the table to form a market. Each player then decides the action they would like to do, and place their pawn on the equivalent space on the main board. This allows them to add tiles to the market, or draw tiles from the bag and place them on their board. The game also comes with extra scoring bonuses that you earn if you complete the in-game goals. Solo rules have not been revealed yet but the objective will be to beat your own score.
