Dungeon Fighter expansions are live (Dungeon Fighter in storms and magma)

Update: In the Labyrinth of Sinister Storms and In the Chambers of Malevolent Magma, two expansions for Dungeon Fighter, are live on Kickstarter and the campaign will run for 21 days. Two more versions are available in this Kickstarter: The Catacombs of Gloomy Ghosts and the Castle of Frightening Frost. Since all Dungeon Fighters are standalone, you may pledge for one, two, three or all four of them.

Our preview post below was published on September 4.

The 1-6 player cooperative dexterity game Dungeon Fighter returns after 9 years with two standalone expansions: In the Labyrinth of Sinister Storms and In the Chambers of Malevolent Magma. They will launch on Kickstarter on September 8. (Update: postponed for September 29).

In the original Dungeon Fighter, a team of unlikely heroes delves into a dungeon to collect treasure. When an encounter with a monster occurs, the fight is enacted by throwing dice onto a target-shaped board. Depending on where the dice land, you deal the equivalent points of damage to the enemy. When you successfully complete a room and find loot, you may purchase items and weapons that give you special abilities (e.g. make you throw the dice from underneath your leg).

The expansions bring new settings that the heroes venture into -a jungle and a volcano- and new heroes along with the classic ones which you can level up. Instead of the fixed dungeon maps of the base game, the expansions have cards: you draw two and pick the one you prefer to go through.

Agreed. The whole point of board gaming is to avoid exercise of all sorts. :D

Stand up and throw dice from under my leg? Game over, man. I'm too fat and lazy to have my board games make me exercise. I'd go outside if I wanted to do all that kind of moving around.
