The Daily Dilly-dally
Okay, this is a scary post as I’m probably setting myself up for failure. But starting today we’re back as a daily news website, just like we started out five years ago. Happy Easter, everyone! We're having our own little phoenix moment here.
A few months ago Athena asked me to cover for her as she wouldn't be able to provide us with weekly overview posts of crowdfunding games for a while. I tried, and it turns out I suck at writing them. I get completely overwhelmed when faced with six or seven games. Then I procrastinate, and the task seems even more overwhelming. And in the end we don’t have a post. But Athena is still way too busy, and so is Zerbique. It’s on me. I decided that the only way forward was to make individual posts per game again. Smaller tasks are easier to handle. Right?
No sake for completeness
We never tried to cover each and every game coming out and I am not about to start now. When pressed for time, I’ll pick small designers over famous ones, independent publishers over settled names.
Also, I want to keep posting session reports, which of course means less time for crowdfunding campaign announcements. For April posts on 20 Strong and Healthy Heart Hospital (3rd Edition) are already planned, hopefully followed by Voidfall or Talisman.
You heard it here last
So. A lot of catching up to do as well. You may see some posts in the next weeks abut games that have been on crowdfunding platforms for a while already and that I just never got around to announcing. Let’s get going. Wish me luck.
So far, no good: Back to square one
I'm glad I'm not alone in the busy-ness (despite trying to avoid that myself). Seems to be the way the world works sadly. @JW don't bombard yourself. Just do what you can, when you can. The ST gang won't be going anywhere regardless. 😉
Good luck, JW. It does seem like a lot of work for one person, as there are so many new games being continuously announced.
Sorry JW for being so busy. But at least I'll read all of your posts!
I had hopes that the endless sequence of deadlines would end in mid-February... Now I hope I'll be free in May.
This is a key year for me because I will no longer be able to get temporary position much longer so I had applied everywhere like crazy to get a permanent one. But of course, job applications take time. Lots of time. And the daily work is still ongoing in the meanwhile!
