Malta Besieged is live (Don't let Malta fall)
Update: Malta Besieged 1940-1942 is live on Kickstarter and the campaign will run for 15 days. You may pledge for a copy of the game or order it together with other solitaire games by Worthington Publishing (In Magnificent Style, Soviet Dawn).
Our preview post below was published on March 19.
Malta Besieged 1940-1942 is a solitaire States of Siege game that pits you in command of the British forces during the Battle for the Mediterranean. By managing supply lines and weakening Rommel, you will try to prevent the Axis from capturing the island of Malta. This new, deluxe edition will launch on Kickstarter on March 20.
You set up the game by placing the Axis forces on their starting spaces and arranging the draw deck which consists of Early, Middle and Late Epoch cards. On each turn, you will draw a card and execute its instructions, from top to bottom. The card will dictate how many action points you can spend on that turn. It also shows which Axis forces are activated, and gives you positive or negative dice mitigation to apply when you take your actions.
There are 4 tracks on the board, all leading to Malta. One is for the German U-boots, another for the Luftwaffe, a third one for the Italian navy, and a forth one for the Italian airforce. In North Africa, the track is leading to Alexandria. The Military, Supply, and Morale tracks represent the resources you will have to manage.
The actions you can take on each turn are: try to increase your resources, try to push back an enemy, fortify your bases, raid (only after Rommel arrives), use the Ultra marker either as a convoy escort or to gather intelligence, and use air support. All these actions are resolved by rolling a die and trying to get a result greater than the resource/enemy value, after you apply any DRMs.
You win the game if you survive all the event cards, and lose if Malta is taken, or if any of the resources goes down to zero, or if the Afrika Korps front advances into Cairo.

Same here. It has been on my wishlist for a long time, and the new edition sure looks good. I am glad a few European shops will sell it.
Damn, another updated SOS game! This again looks awesome and will absolutely be getting this, just not via kickstarter. Worthington Games just like Compass Games, put their stuff on KS to gain awareness of their products and sell a few extra copies to people who wouldn't normally come across their games. I will be able to get this retail for under £70 inc P&P whereas it will be £90-100 via KS with all the added shipping & duties involved......
