Update: 303 Squadron is live on Kickstarter, and the campaign will run for 18 days. There is only one pledge level that gets you the game and spot UV on the box. The rulebook is available for downloading (it covers the co-op mode, the solo is still work in progress).
Our preview post below was published on December 2.
303 Squadron is a 1-4 player cooperative game in which you become part of the Polish Squadron that excelled in air fights during the Battle of Britain. It is hitting Kickstarter tomorrow, December 3.
The game is scenario-driven, and each scenario requires that you adopt a different strategic approach to beat the Luftwaffe. For example, you may decide to fly in formation or perform individual maneuvers depending on the events that the scenario throws at you.
On your turn, you first decide if you are going to use your pilot's special ability, and then draw two cards from a deck. Next is Movement: you decide the direction in which you want to fly your aircraft (and discard a card if you wish to move further). In the Combat phase, you choose your target and try to either take it down or distract it. Sometimes, the attack may take two rounds. In this case, you prepare it on the first round, and then execute your plan. Enemy aircrafts will try to shoot you down as well. Dice are rolled, and if you are hit, you may use your cards as defense. Any damage you receive, you apply it on your player board.
The game comes with a huge map (100x70cm), more than 30 miniature planes on bases, and custom dice.
