Nova Lux is live (Cosmic colonists)

Update: Nova Lux is live on Kickstarter and the campaign will run for 24 days. You can just pledge for the game or have a graphic novel included. There's also an option to get a Print & Play-version. Or, if you'd like to, you can design your own faction.

Here's the designer doing a solo playthrough.

Our preview post below was published on August 5.

Nova Lux is a 1-6 player resource management and engine building game about rivaling alien colonists. It will launch on Kickstarter on August 10.

To play the game, you first create a 4x4 grid of star cards. Red giant cards will be placed on top of most of the star cards, and yellow star cards on top of those cards. Each of them takes a hydrogen marker. You begin with a hand of 3 alien faction cards and a specific amount of resources, tracked on your player board. Then, on each turn, you can perform 4 actions: move around the grid, harvest the resources of the star you are sitting on, perform an action shown on your faction cards, and activate your own biosphere engine.

This last action means that, if the last hydrogen of a star is used up, the yellow star card is removed to reveal the red giant underneath. This new star can be claimed as your own and begin to be exploited. After the actions have been performed, you will remove a yellow star card from the grid. Once you have gained 7 of each resource, you can build a colony and try to complete the goals of your faction cards. In the multiplayer game, the player who completes all three faction goals first, wins.

Solo rules have not been revealed yet but you may check the Kickstarter preview.

That looks like a solid solitaire mode. I'm in.

Hello Frank, Athena, and everyone else who may be interested! Per Frank's request, I've just uploaded a 15 minute solo-play video on the kickstarter campaign. It's just below the videos from the Dice Tower, Gameboy Geek, and Tantrum house:

I'm intrigued, I'd like to see a solo play video though. I don't think I have any games like this.
