Night of the Living Dead is live (CMON movie night)
Update: Night of the Living Dead: A Zombicide Game is live on Kickstarter, and the campaign will run for only 8 days. Contrary to the usual CMON Kickstarter style, this project has neither stretch goals nor add-ons. It does have some exclusive components, though: extra survivor and ghoul minis with their associated cards. The game is also offered in French.
Our preview post below was published on December 6.
Night of the Living Dead: A Zombicide Game is the next Kickstarter campaign that CMON will launch on December 10.
Like Zombicide, this is a 1-6 player cooperative game set in a zombie apocalypse but this time the setting is George Romero's classic zombie film. The heroes are locked inside a house while a horde of 'ghouls' is patrolling outside and eventually attacking them. Among the main characters is also Karen, the daughter of a married couple, who has fallen ill after being bitten by a zombie. Karen dies after a while but, as expected, comes back to life as a zombie, munches on her father's corpse and kills her mother with a trowel. The CMON mini is armed with a chainsaw.
The most interesting aspect of the game seems to be the double-sided character cards. One side will be the Romero mode: the heroes will have attributes that match those of the characters in the film. The other side will be the Zombicide mode: they become tougher, zombie-killing machines. As you play, you will be able to switch your character from weak to tough but you won't be able to stay in Zombicide mode permanently. As soon as a hero has an encounter with a zombified relative of theirs, they flip back into Romero mode because they are emotionally affected.
We will see the rest onscreen.
