The Phantom: The Card Game is a 1-2 player cooperative hand management game inspired by adventures of The Phantom superhero. It will launch on Kickstarter on May 1.
The game consists of three adventures (two featuring The Phantom, and one starring Diana) which can be replayed by modifying the difficulty and adding Achievement and Loot cards. In order to win, you must fulfill the objective set by each adventure.
At the beginning of the game, you read a Lore card. This will provide the background story, and instructions on how to build the Destiny deck. On each turn, you first decide if you need to heal or ready your cards, then flip a Destiny card (an event or enemy). You then draw cards from the player deck up to your hand limit, and proceed to the Adventure phase: you may play a card from your hand, activate a played card, discard a card from your hand to receive its benefit, or initiate combat. All these actions involve the exchange of resource tokens. In the Fate phase, the enemy attacks and deals damage. You draw a card from the damage deck and suffer the consequences. If the damage deck runs out, you lose the game. In the Cleanup phase, you discard any cards left in your hand and any tokens above the limit of six.
You may try the PnP version of the game by downloading the files from the Games By Lyck website.
