Update: Dawn on Titan is live on Kickstarter and the campaign will run for 19 days. You may pledge either for a copy of the base game, or get both the game and the Alien expansion.
Our preview post below was published on February 19.
Dawn on Titan is a 1-4 player 5X game (explore, exploit, expand, exterminate, explode) in which corporations fight over the control of resources on the moons of Saturn. It will launch on Kickstarter on February 23.
In Dawn on Titan, you are playing as the head of a space corporation. You will explore and exploit the moons around Saturn, building mines and factories to collect resources. The gravity of Saturn affects the movement of the spaceships, and you will try to use it to your advantage when fighting your opponents. Each corporation has a different winning condition, and your goal is to build all 7 of your industries.
On each round, you can perform 3 actions: Ship, Industry, or Combat. With the Ship action, you can: 1) move your spaceship to a new location on the board. How far you can move depends on your current location (each of them has a different limit). 2) Change the direction of your spaceship. 3) Explore an unexplored moon. 4) Build an industry (mine, lab, factory or extractor) and collect the matching resources.
With the Industry action you can: 1) Build a spaceship by paying the required resources. 2) Build a card from the cards available at your Headquarters. 3) Produce resources from your industries, or 4) Resupply from Earth and receive a resource of any type.
With the Combat action, you can attack any opponent sitting in the same location as your spaceship or industries. The fight is resolved by both sides simultaneously picking a card and revealing it, rock-paper-scissors-style.
Solo rules are still work in progress.
