So I've made a concerted effort recently to back less on Kickstarter and enjoy the games I've already got. How's that going I hear you ask? Well I've gone through August without backing anything...... Yay me!
Wait, is that the postman.....
Aw crap!!!!
Now in my defense I've had 6 Kickstarters all deliver in the last month. Two more were on my long term wishlist, Versailles 1919 popped up and I got it for £35, Space Hulk was £30 and then we get to Warfighter. I spotted that one as I was interested in getting a warchest, had a closer look at the auction and realised there was a ton of other stuff in there too, so I took a punt and bagged it for £100. A lot of money for a warchest but not for world war 2 base set, pacific base set and every phase one and phase two expansion. There are so many cards that the bottom of the chest is full and some of the expansions are still boxed as there is nowhere to put them. I've already sold a few of the ones I didn't want and have got half my money back already and I think once the other ones have sold I will have essentially got the rest for free.... 😁
So back to enjoying the games I already have.......again!
Any ideas as to which one I should try first, let me know......
Have you tried Ratcatcher in the end? I'd love to hear a perspective different from mine!
Also looking forward to the Ratcatcher impressions, although Zerbique convinced me I wouldn't like it. 😄
My thoughts on The Mariana Trench are now up, those of a nervous disposition look away......
I'd be very curious about Shaolia. I almost backed it last time. I'm still kinda tempted...
I found Space Hulk brand new on ebay for around $40.00 but someone beat me to it (earlier this month). It looks good but I am just holding back. Hopefully, you enjoy it and can convince me to give it a shot.
At least now I don’t feel bad for backing so many kickstarters. I’ll tell you what, it’s not so bad ordering them… it‘s only bad when they arrive around the same time! How do I explain to my wife that one? “Well this one is from last year, this from a few months ago, and this one… wait, is that the mailman again?! Hold on, hon!”
I agree with Mike. Start light first. I am curious about the Ratcatcher. Zerbique wasn’t too impressed, but maybe you might feel different. Intrepid looks interesting, too, if a bit heavy.
I vote for Mariana Trench, 'cause I should be receiving my copy soon. 🤗 Plus, it looks as if it may the the "light" game of the bunch, so it could be a good "warm-up" for those heavier games. 🙂
P.S. Congrats on makin' it through August without backin' anything.
