Have you ever been surprised at the size of a game you bought?
I was expecting a smallish-boxed game, that was basically cards and tokens. Imagine my surprise when I opened a slightly larger than average box.
Not the end of the world and probably my fault for assuming. I guess room was included for the expansions.
Now what to do with this beast?
Oh my. 😮 I know that box for Hostage Negotiator: Crime Wave is huge.
One of our earliest posts was about this practice: The vast emptiness of space. It keeps surprising me.
A laughable statement indeed!
That's actually the standard with Hall or Nothing Games. The "historical battles" series (1066, 1565, 1815) are the same: they come in boxes of the exact same size as Veilwraith and they are basically empty (not for future expansions, as there won't be: by design).
This was even addressed in the FAQ for 1565:
I'm not backing Hall or Nothing games since. Games don't have a "nature" that "necessitate" any shelf space beyond the size they should actually take!
Man, that's a total waste of space. And you can't throw it away due to the promise of expansions. 🙄 Storing little games inside like Mike says is probably the best way to go.
Veilwraith looks as if it was 95% air inside. That's a lot of Expansions or it's a 'WTF'? You could put all your pee-wee games in Veilwraith, then have a bunch of little Post-Its on the box saying what games are inside. 😄
