So this morning Nemo's War Ultimate Edition arrived on my doorstep.
This is the 3rd time I own Nemo's War. I first bought it in 2018 and traded it away. In 2020 I acquired another 2nd edition copy through a trade and sold it. And then I backed the Ultimate Edition KS. This is the only game I ever acquired again (let alone a 3rd time).
On BGG, I wrote down "... My biggest gripe is that it plays a bit too long as for me it becomes too repetitive. ...". I also had this remark with Astroforce probably because I played Deep Space D6 a fair bit and that plays faster. Given that JW has played that game over a 100 times, I this weekend gave this game another chance. Looks like I evolved as a solo gamer and I found it much more enjoyable and want to play more. So I'm actually looking forward to playing Nemo's War with a fresh mindset and see where it leads me.
Independent of my own experience outcome I also wrote "... I recommend this game for any solo gamer to at least try it. ..." and I still stand by that.
Well, Wouter, something in you must be saying it has potential. Hopefully, the charm will show itself this time.
