Tonight I saw that my "local" board game store had received copies of Squire Pack I (expansion for Squire for Hire). I love my little Squire for Hire game, and this expansion has been on my wishlist for a while. The beauty is, it's just under $10.
Naturally, that made me think about the Squire for Hire: Mystic Runes (standalone expansion). "What if they have that in stock as well? Being so cheap, I might as well purchase both to make it worth it!"....
They had one left in stock!
Now I battle with myself, being so close to Christmas; Do I give them to my wife or daughters to gift to me then?? OR do I play them as soon as they come in!?!?
After my order was completed I realized that the game store I order from online (2hrs down the road) does have gift cards available (which would be an ideal gift). So technically, I could have waited. Oops. But hey, these may have been out of stock by then for sure AND I have many other wishlisted games I could purchase with a nice Christmas gift card. 😉
I think you made the right move, Derek. To quote Marcus Porcius Cato - “He who hesitates is lost.” There might be a quote from someone (me, for example) stating, "A game on your shelf (/in your hand) is worth two in the store." 😀
