It FINALLY arrived! My new content for Maquis.
This was my first Kickstarter experience. It also may be my last. Don't get me wrong; it was smooth, it was a very fair price, no surprises and Side Room Games updated everyone (when they could).
But the WAITING....
DEFINITELY NOT FOR ME.
It felt like forever. I may be whining, but I also know the type of gamer I have become. When I purchase a game, I don't want to wait months for it to arrive. A couple weeks, sure... but not months! From the time I hit "purchase" I'm totally pumped to get my new game / expansion to the table.
Waiting is not something I want to do in my gaming hobby.
Sorry for the rant. I'm very excited to play this ASAP. But it's been a learning experience for me. If a kickstarter looks exciting and it doesn't end up making it to retail... So be it. "It wasn't meant to be" will be my new gaming policy. 😉
Derek, that was your 1st Kickstarter 'adventure'? Wow! Yes, the waiting is totally annoying, and it seems the projected date for fulfillment is usually very optimistic. I think JW had waited for Seize the Bean for a year or two, and he finally gave-up. The estimated delivery was February 2018, but as of today, it still hasn't been delivered to anyone!
P.S. You're not whining or ranting. I doubt anyone likes the very lengthy waits.
