I've just heard that JW will never receive his pledge.
I regret not getting it on Philibert when it was available. It would have been still new in shrink by now and I could have had forwarded it to JW so he could get it.
Don't worry. It was available in a shop in Amsterdam for a while as well. But I was too frustrated to buy it. I will survive without it. It would have been a very nice gesture though, thanks.
Basically I've read a few negatives that drove me away from the game:
- indeed, lots of rules errata needed. Parts of them are covered by the Rules Update you mentioned, but not all of them.
- some of these errata would require either having a memo regarding the components they apply to, or stickers. This is a very repellent thought to me. I highly dislike stickers.
- the encounters are basically randomized, and while you ship gets upgrades along the way, the difficulty is random without scaling all throughout the game. Which means the beginning of the game feels overly harsh, but when you get past this and start to upgrade, you quickly become so powerful that nothing poses a threat anymore - including the final boss.
- the length of the game is random (it requires drawing a specific token from a bag) and it can drag on.
I've finally found a cheap copy of the original one so I'll go with that, even though it looks much less fancy.

Have any of you tried it?
😲 I'm jealous. Well, it will be here one day. It seems figuring out EU VAT isn't that easy for a one-man business.
