Castle Itter (1 Player) was planned, but Beacon Patrol (1-4 Players) was more impulsive (although it was on my Wishlist a while back). With Beacon Patrol I strayed from my no more multi-player game buying rule, but I invoked a technicality of it being okay 'cause I wanted it before I made that rule. I know, that's completely lame, but I have to justify it somehow. Plus, Beacon Patrol was from the same seller as Castle Itter (both games are Pre-Owned), so he gave me a deal for gettin' 'em both. I like the theme as well, 'cause I like lighthouses. 🙂 Size: Beacon Patrol is 12.5cm x 24cm x 5.6cm and Castle Itter is 22.7cm x 30.5cm x 5.2cm.

I eventually sold Castle Itter, as I decided I only wanted to keep one of the Valiant Defense games (I kept Pavlov's House). But it's a good introduction to the series.
I think Beacon Patrol was primarily a solo game, and they added the "multiple players" options later on (they often inflate the player count to sell to a wider audience).
I alreayd paid for this game but I am now waiting for my order to be shipped (I have several orders on hold from several online stores from several countries and I have completely lost track of it all so nice surprises are regularly coming in).
I played this game digitally two years ago or so when they hadn't a publisher. I enjoyed it a lot. It's a bit tricky to score well, but no matter what, it's always enjoyable and relaxing to play. It almost made my Top 20 of that year but then I backed out because it was only digital at the time.
I must say, though, the juxtaposition of these two titles is quite delightful.
I love how you convince yourself so easily!
Also, you can play Beacon Patrol solo, so we'll allow it 😉
