Just like last Christmas, I have a nice haul of games to get to the table and to find room for on the shelf. 🙂
In my stocking, I unexpectedly pulled out the Catan Dice game. The game is older than I thought (2007) and it actually has two ways to play inside. I played a solo game yesterday (which is a 'beat your own score') type variant. It'll be a fun little game for camping and cottage for sure. Yahtzee-like with a Catan spin on things. 😉
Of course, Santa brought the family Tiny Towns which I'm hoping to get to the table later today sometime. I unboxed it yesterday and skimmed through the rulebook. Santa also brought something unexpected which was Blokus Shuffle. We all enjoy Blokus here in our house, but now adding in this "UNO edition" will really put a change in pace of how the game is played. 😮
With Shawna's side of the family, the adults draw names. So my brother-in-law got my name this year, and in my Christmas bag of various gifts was a Sagrada expansion; Sagrada: The Great Facades - Passion. Sagrada is another family hit, so I was excited to see this in my gift bag. AND of course, like Sagrada, it solos. 😎
AND YES, there's more!!!
Having said that, they won't arrive until later this week or sometime into next (hopefully sooner rather than later). I received gift cards to a local game store (2hrs away in Toronto) where I often buy my games. So with that I knocked off some "Must Have" games on my wishlist. Coming soon... Everdell, Root, Root: Clockwork Expansion. 😮
Sounds like a good haul, indeed. Gift cards are always welcome, as you know you'll get something you want. 😀 Whittling-down your Wish List is always good, as you'll surely need to make room on it for newcomers. 😀 I heard (in this Video (Red Raven Games Office Tour)), over 4,000 new games come-out annually - which averages-out to about 11 every day. I'd love to have a "bottomless" Gift Card, but if I did have one, I'd need a warehouse with it. 😄
Good Haul! I will probably like Root, and I would love to pick up Everdell for the family one of these days. Enjoy!
