I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. It was a foggy, rainy and warm (for us) here in Ontario, Canada this year. But the holiday's have been nice and relaxing this year - which is what I really wanted for Christmas. 😀 I have until next Tuesday off and have been enjoying some time at the table again (after a busy December) playing Expeditions, Distilled, Wingspan and today, Apiary. I even was able to teach my 15yr old daughter Expeditions last night, which is exciting. 😊
Christmas of course, did not come without getting a gift certificate to my FLGS that I purchase from most of the time; boardgamebliss.com If anything, I didn't expect more than $50, so I was excited to see $100 gift certificate for me. Immediately I knew I was going to knock an expensive game ($100+) off my wishlist!!! Yay!!!
My first instinct was to see if Masters of the Universe: Clash for Eternia was in stock. It wasn't. 😕 I grew up a massive He-Man fan, and still am. Even though skirmish games aren't usually my go to - it's He-Man! So I know it'll be in my collection eventually. But... I guess I'll have to wait.
My next option (only because it was on sale recently) was Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - The Adventure Game. Regular $149.95 CDN on for $89.95 CDN recently. Of course, they didn't last long but I figured I should double check.
This meant, I knew exactly which game I would be aiming for and I have to say, I got lucky. There was ONE copy left in stock!! I jumped on it. And so, I await my copy of Frostpunk: The Board Game to hopefully come sometime late next week!!!! I have the video game and really like so many aspects of it. And it is it EVER HARD!!! I'm not good at it. But that's just a challenge egging me on.
It's BIG...
It's complex....
And it's now mine!!!! Yay!!!!
People will be freezing...
Many will not survive....
But I will do my best to lead them - once the Frostpunk lands arrive in the mail of course. 😋
Frostpunk, huh? That definitely seems right up your alley, Derek. Do you have a table that can accommodate that beast, or will you be laying out a tarp on the local football field?
