I did a little BGG research on the designer of this game (Joseph Miranda) and he has a whopping 271 games to his credit, one of which is this Space Wargame:
Great game! I thought we did a post on it once, bit apparently not. I did place it #7 on a list of underappreciated games. Should really play this again. It's been too long.
State of Siege games (I think this is one of those) can easily overwhelm me (well, War Games in general), but this one I can manage (maybe 🙂). I have Mound Builders, too, and I liked that one.
I never had much interest in historical battles (or history in general, really), but ironically, some board games have sparked my interest in them. I had no idea about early submarine warfare, but I learned some interesting stuff after playing By Stealth and Sea. The early subs were man-powered (of course) and didn't launch torpedoes, but would instead sneak-up to ships in the harbor and attach them to the bottom of ships and then "run" for it.
Thanks for reposting the Link to that list of underappreciated games. I own six of them! I almost purchased March of the Ants (#19) a few years back. According to BGG, March of the Ants: Second Edition is slated for 2025. Check it out here.

This game had a napkin in it. Check-out the "fine print" in the second photo (or magnify the first one). 😄
