And it came to pass in those days, that I found myself in the possession of Legendary: A Marvel Deck Building Game. Now I live by the Cæsar Augustus' decree, that all the world and everyone in it should be taxed, and this game just doesn't do it for me. Too easy! Not taxing at all.
I know, it's an older game, and it was influential. But there are better games now. Legendary Encounters and Apex Theropod are way more thematic. Aeon's End and Marvel Champions have more interesting boss fights and characters.
It's a bummer as I'd like to enjoy it. It has the potential of being one of those "quick to the table when you're tired" games.
But, these are my impressions from playing just the base game a few times. I've sorted out some expansions from the box, and I see that Dark City comes with new solo rules. They look interesting. So who knows, the next time I report about this game, I may bring you good tidings of great joy.
Please, JW, bring us tidings of joy! I just watched some news I recorded, and I always need good tidings after that. It's a shit-show here in the U.S. Please give me a good game that will allow me to escape reality with glee, even if briefly. 😀 I see Arnak in your photo. How are you likin' that one?
