Just like Gloomknight I have a copy on my shelf (on my actual shelf, not in a crate buried in the darkness of my basement). I even played it once! I was completely smashed. I felt this is a solo game where you really have to "game" the AI mechanics to stand a chance, which is often the case with AIs and the chief reason why I dislike them.
I played it once at 2, and it was nice but not crazy.
I've been on the edge of parting with it ever since, but it survived three years in this situation. I love the theme and the production value is delightful.
No, I mean that your actions revolve around the "AI algorithm" shortcomings. So you no longer play to develop your own strategy or to explore the design capabilities and the various situations it has to offer, but you play in a way that attempt to exploit as much and as systematically as possible the built-in weaknesses of the AI. Since the AI otherwise is "overpowered", you don't stand a chance if you don't deliberately play around its blind spots.
Fun game. I own a copy on my shelf. It seems you have to use an aggressive playstyle to keep the ai in check. I wish there was more variety for solo. Good luck!
