A couple weeks ago my wife actually sat down to play a game with me (it's been a good month for others playing with me - including my daughter letting me teach her Marvel Champions). I convinced my wife by playing something she enjoyed once before; PARKS. In the excitement that she actually wanted to play a game with me, I mentioned I would introduce the Nightfall Expansion to her. But as I was setting up I was drawing a complete blank. I panicked as I didn't want to lose her desire to play by me having to dive into the rulebook for a minute or two. 🤣 So we just played the base game... which she beat me by 1VP. 😯
Last weekend I was away on a guys weekend with my two buddies. I brought a few games knowing Saturday was going to be raining at some point, so I got to teach them PARKS (I lost again by 1VP... 🙄) and Pandemic.
Today (a rainy weekend here in Ontario, Canada) I had some time to get PARKS to the table again, as I wanted to remember "how to camp" (aka - how to play the Nightfall Expansion). I quickly realized why I was drawing a blank, though I knew it wouldn't take long to remember how to play ... I hadn't played it since November 2022 (5-months! Wow). Many other games have been played in that time, so it's no wonder I couldn't remember. 🤣
As I played through I was reminded why I enjoyed it so much. It's such a great addition to a game I already enjoy. I didn't fair overly well, but not bad either. 😋
