With our (unwanted) house move in progress, we're definitely in "@#%^ it mode" now. Nothing is ideal in this situation, so just do what you gotta do. But that mindset has allowed me to get back to the table (by table I mean, wherever I can find space right now) to play some smaller footprint games.
Yesterday, I brought Maquis to the bar to help the Maquisarde get the Nazi's out of France! I can't wait for my Maquis expansion from KS to arrive (in September if it stays on schedule). Everytime this little game hits the table I just love it. The real history behind it, the game mechanics and the intensity in decisions it brings along at times... So much fun! @Zerbique - you'll be happy to know that 2/3 games, I was successful. 😁
I'm excited once things settle down to invest in more solo-only games like this as well. These little games are so great and easy to bring to the cottage or enjoy in various places thanks to their small footprint. 😃
I also backed the Kickstarter as this has been on my wishlist for some time. As an add on I also went for Black Sonata & Fair Youth for the same reason.....:)
I really like this game, too, and backed the Expansion, as well. Have you seen Black Sonata (w/the Fair Youth Expansion)? It's 1-Player only and has a fairly small footprint (the box is the same size as Maquis). There's some "deduction", which I totally suck at, but maybe you would like it.
