December was all about participating in the 2022 Dicember challenge. All my plays are here but I'm going to pull out the solo plays that stood out for me.
- Astroforce: The Dice Game : I moved the box to a more prominent place in my solo closet as I always seem to glance over it. Initially I had a big of an issue with this game as it competes in the same space as Deep Space D-6 and the later plays faster. But I got rid of Deep Space D-6, kept Astroforce and I'm happy with that decision. Let me be clear Deep Space D-6 is also a good game but I prefer the decision space in Astroforce more. I REALLY should play this more often.
- Rollway Station 2: Tracks of the Trade : An improved version of the original one. Several maps to choose from and now has a (very simple) bot. And it's free to download. For sure one of the better PnP games I've played.
- Bismarck Solitaire : A neat roll and move light wargame. A bit expensive for what it offers (at least buying it in EU) but good fun. It baffles me why it's in a regular bound book and not in a spiral bound one. And no PnP PDF option *sigh* ?
- Der Clou: Roll & Heist : This is for me That's Pretty Clever! with an actual theme and a modular system in PnP form.
- D-Day Dice (Second Edition) : I initially really loved this game and then I apparently hit a hard frustrating wall. But now I dusted it off and having a fresh perspective I still/again like this game. I now also understand why I got frustrated and understand how to avoid it. I'm happy I didn't got rid of it.
On to next month (which is almost there seeing I post this near the end of January 😋 ).
