I could borrow a copy of Hellboy, so I tried the first scenario. Having read the comics and seen the movies I must say I enjoyed the look and feel of this game.
Gameplay however, a bit less. Lots of small rules and a lot of going back and forward in the rulebook. Of course when you play it more, that becomes less of a problem, but to me it is an obstacle. As I don't feel like going through this again to get more familiar with the rules. Kids these days. No patience. 🙄
I don't like the movie (only seen the first Del Toro one), which, in my mind, ditches the best part of the comics, but the comics are among my favorite!
I've never felt particularly compelled to play it as a board game. As I implied above, the action scenes are, to me, the weakest part of the series.
Glad you had bits of fun with it at least!
