This past Friday afternoon, my Dad and I head to our friend's place for a day of music, drinks, smoked food and friends; and what a day it was! It was even better than a couple years ago (the last time we were able to have a day like that). Now although I "behaved" myself and didn't go overboard on the drinks (a perk of me playing music that day I guess), I did end up a bit foggy-headed yesterday afternoon. My wife and daughter were out shopping, so it was a great afternoon for some "not too heavy" gaming. 😆
It was one of those days where you're staring at the shelf thinking things like "no that's a bit too heavy today", "no I don't feel like setting all that up today".... Yet once you just get a game to the table, you instantly go to your happy place and think "why all the fuss? This is awesome!" 😁
I headed to Everdell figuring the shade of the EverTree would help my foggy head, possibly. Apparently in game 1 it did, as I beat Rugwort for only the second time in eleven plays against "Rugwort the Rascal". I felt pretty good about myself, so I decided to play a second game. In this game I learned (at least in my opinion) that Rugwort is actually a bear. Why do I think this you ask? Because apparently I "poked the bear" as Rugwort beat me pretty good in game 2. 🤣😮
Time to bring something else to the table... 😉 Sticking with the animal theme, I figured I might as well try to take on a Rhino... 😏
To help take on the "man-beast", I enlisted the help of the (hopefully less foggy brained) She-Hulk and Captain America. It was a good battle for quite a while. As you can see though, at one point Rhino's minion's were really picking on Ms. Walters. Apparently she upset them somehow. 😂
I'm still not very good at Marvel Champions, but I'm beginning to get into the game a bit more.
All in all, it was a great afternoon at the table. 😊
Sounds as if Friday and Saturday were winners for ya, Derek, despite your "bear pokin'". Good for you! I hope today rounds-off a great 3 day stretch for ya. Got any plans for gamin' today? I'm still debatin' what I'll play today, but it'll be one I haven't played, yet. I need to chip away at my Shelf of Shame with more diligence.
