My first and favorite Elder Scrolls game is actually (Part 2) Daggerfall! It boosts an insanely large world with guilds to join, an elaborate reputation system, challenging gameplay, good music, deliciously dark atmosphere, and the freedom to go anywhere and do anything in typical Elder Scrolls fashion. Yes, its dated, and no the world is not handcrafted like future installments but more of a randomized (and somewhat generic) affair. But, I am not like the rest of the mob.. Just because I played (and loved) the older games doesnโt mean I canโt appreciate their change and evolution over time. In fact, I welcome it. But sometimes, just sometimes, I wonder if we can get back to the complexity and challenge of these older designs while progressing forward with story and graphics without sacrificing one for the other.
Ha ha! I only played Morrowind indeed so I cannot say whether Skyrim is better or not. Never finished the main quest either (but I did finish the main quest of the two expansions).
Skyrim has mammoths. It cannot be bad. But I still need to own a computer that can run it.
Anyway, I wouldn't see the point in a Morrowind board game so I'm pleased it's Skyrim.
Over 600 hours. I spent over 600 hours walking around in a heavily modded Skyrim. Never found out how the main quest ended. I am very interested in what gameplay of the boardgame will be like. If it never ends, I'm in.(What's that snorting sound over in the distance? Did the snobs just wake up and start grumbling how much better Morrowind was? ๐ฅฑ They do so every time someone mentions "Elder Scrolls". Have done so for fifteen years straight. How boring your life must be to say the same things over and over, day in day out, year in year out. And nod when your pal says exactly the same. Yes. Yes. Mowwowwin. Giant mushwooms. Those were the days. Yeees.)
Oh, I wondered why you had brought up Morrowind in the first place (I only followed!), but indeed, in the "Sifting" thread on BGG, this was the immediate answer. I'm actually surprised.
Thinking of it, I wonder which video game I'd like to see an adaptation of and can't think of any spontaneously. Perhaps Full Metal Furies or Neon Chrome. The first for its cool cast of characters and possible synergies between those (with a nice alternation between campfire phases/short missions so that the game would be a sort of campaign spanning multiple game sessions, with the opportunity to tweak your deck of cards in-between), the second for its great atmosphere and the fun of finding the perfect set of upgrades to match your playstyle.
This is very exciting! :)
P.S. for all those Morrowind fans out there.. that installment was actually my least favorite ๐๐

Never played the video game but I'm intrigued.
