In this announcement, Level 99 Games have revealed that they will run crowfunding campaigns for their own games on their own platform. They don't entirely part ways with Kickstarter though, and will still run big campaigns there. The campaigns on their "Launching 99" platform will rather be focused on smaller games and bundles.
Good news, there should be affordable shipping for most people as the games will be fulfilled from local hubs!
Just a random picture of my favorite character in the upcoming Bullet game to make this post a bit less bland. When your life occupation is to be a High Centroid Triometron, you deserve that kind of attention.
Sounds like you have every reason not to preorder their games again. But I hope you enjoy this one. 🙂
Argh, I'm weak, even though I haven't played the base game yet (it arrived only the previous week), I still pre-ordered this expansion. I got caught with the "after that it will be sent from the US store house". Anyway, I had filled one of their surveys some months ago and it got me a $15 voucher for their site: it was the perfect thing to cover the shipping fee.
By the way, I've been very unhappy with their handling of the KS campaign. For instance, the sleeves for the card ship separately. I won't sleeve my game twice, and I won't play if the cards aren't sleeved. So I wait. They also announced that EU fulfillment was complete while a good 20% of EU backers (including I) hadn't received anything, so we had to write tickets to make them realize that there were still games to be sent. They also downgraded some of the components 'for economic reasons'. And finally the box was slightly bumped. Hmpf. Hopefully the game will be really good.
Indeed, no different than any other online preorder. Here's the link.
Well, in the end, Launching 99 is just a boring pre-order system with a nominal discount for a limited time.
I can't see the bundles, I can't see the low shipping fee. Disappointing somehow.
Well, I was spot-on featuring a Bullet picture for Launching 99...
The first game to be launched on their platform has been announced, and it's actually an expansion for Bullet! The name is actually Bullet (orange emoticon) instead of Bullet (heart icon) which will make it very convenient to search and speak about...
Given that I have very very high hopes for Bullet, I'm actually slightly excited and will probably get it. Hoping I'd have received the core game before that, of course!
To be released on March 30th.
More importantly, how do I become a member of this "triangle-based cult?" Getting closer to divinity through triangles sounds like something I'd be into.
Now leave me, I must contemplate the divine shape.
Even though splitting new releases over multiple websites will be a chore for us, I for once think was enthusiastic with the news. They really don't want to make a new KS as these "home-made" campaigns will have no stretch goals and the like, so I'm really fine with this.
Also, they had the magic words to appeal to me: "bundles" and "Europe-based fulfillment".
Ah, interesting news! I'm curious to see what will be their first launch.
