Nobles is a solitaire game by John Clowdus from the Small Box line of games, and freely available as a PnP. The game is comprised of 27 Noble cards (of 7 types) and 27 Event cards (of 4 types). Your goal is to complete as many events as possible.

To set up the game, you must shuffle each deck separately, and deal each of these two decks into three even decks of 9 cards. These decks are then flipped face-up. On your turn, you must first “court”, that is, you pick a face-up Noble from one of the three Noble cards and discard it, activating its corresponding ability. Then, you choose a face-up Event and complete it. To complete an Event, you must discard Noble cards according to the Event requirements. For instance, one Event has you discard two Nobles from a single deck, another as many Nobles as you have Events of that time in your completed pile. When you discard Nobles that way, you activate their ability, which is different than the one you activate when you court. For instance, the “court” ability of the Veteran noble is that it moves to another deck instead, and its “discard to complete event” ability is that it survives Battle events, going back to a Noble deck instead of getting discarded.

The game ends whenever one of the six decks is empty. Then, you count how many events you completed: this gives you your score, and you are free to try again to beat it!
