Man It's a Hot One

Barrett Publishing just revealed their next Solo Game of the Month crowdfunding campaign for March...

And I was excited to see that they decided to publish Quests Over Coffee! This has long been available as a PnP and I have been interested in it from the onset (it has two keywords in the title that are very important in my life).

It's a silly, portable, card-driven, fast-played dungeon crawl meant to be played as you sip a cup of coffee. My very solo dream.

Launching on Gamefound on March 12th! Not as exciting as Armello but still something to look forward to for me!

I did a PnP and played a fair amount of this game. I also have a lot of the mini-expansions but stopped as it got a bit chaotic with how they were release on itch.io It's a very light push-your-luck/yahtzee style of game with wonderful and funny drawings. It the crowdfunding price is reasonable I might switch to a printed copy (and hopefully get a consistent ruleset).

The previous "Solo Games of the Month" have been pretty reasonable price-wise. Likely more than what you could get from retail for the same amount of money, but with the international shipping factored in, it remains quite affordable. I like that trend.

For instance, their previous game was $37 (with VAT and shipping for Belgium). It's not inexpensive for such a little game, but I have paid $37 in shipping alone for much bigger game that I will probably play much less.
