And here we go again! It never ends!
First: three confirmed KS.
Curiosity. I'll leave you with a snippet from the BGG description as my brain couldn't quite compute: Curiosity is a cat themed cooperative deck-building campaign where players work together to attempt to escape the Catacombs. OK, why not? Not the creator first KS, but the previous two were quite confidential, if not unsuccessful (here and there).
America's Main Street, from Eagle-Gryphon Games. It contains two family-friendly games focused on Route 66.
Actually now live on Kickstarter.
Last, Towers of Yoma, a tower defense game set in what looks to be a steampunk universe. Not only it has towers, you also get to design a maze, which is something I hugely enjoy in tower defense games (I'm thinking about the Gem Craft series), but seldom gets implemented in board games. The creator (both designer and publisher apparently), HYBR, has already a few campaigns to brag about.
I'll also add Ascendancy. Not new by any means, but the page has seen a recent surge of activity and the creator is planning a KS. The leaflet will tell you more about it than I can do... Just know that it claims inspiration from Final Fantasy, Magic the Gathering, Fire Emblem and Heroes of Might and Magic.
A bit of retail news now. Surely you've never heard about Yovoslago, an Argentine-based publishing house? Anyway, I don't know whether their games will be available worldwide (and playable for non-Spanish speakers), but they've added N° Problema and Codigo ergo sum to the database.
Next, Cuphead: Fast Rolling Dice Game, from the huge publisher The Op, a board game adaptation of the famous video game Cuphead where you roll dice in real time to form sets and beat the bosses. That's quite a piece of news actually.
From Capstone you have Corrosion, a card drafting theme with an industrial theme. On your turn you can either play an engineer card or "turn the corrosion wheel" that will activate all your machines. You will get your engineer cards back to your hand, and old machines may collapse. All of this brings you points that are needed to win the game, as usual.
The rulebook is available in the files section.
Maybe it will only be in Japanese but two of my favorite designers, Seiji Kanai and Masato Uesugi, team up in Hizuru, a Fantasy adventure and exploration game in which you build up a party to fight demons. Reading the description, it looks like a Roll and Move game.
Next, three games that may be wishful thinking or utter crap, I have no clue.
Action Dice Football. A dice game themed around football (but the fake one, not soccer). You also have Action Dice Baseball, Action Dice Hockey and Action Dice Basketball so... have your pick!
Fantasy Shinding. A weird RPGish system with lots of iconography. And dice rolls, obviously.
Spirits of Christmas. A Dickens-inspired game where you will move Scrooge to several scenes and perform actions with a rondel to succeed at them.
Finally, four PnPs.
Deckula, a card-based game about vampires and what it means to live a decadent life for all eternity. Each turn you draw a card and either buy it to build your personal tableau or forgo it to gain energy (to buy future cards). But there are also visitors that pose a threat and must be defended against! You can read the rules and download the PnP files from the BGG WIP thread. Note also that the designer, Dr. Mindflip, is a regular 1PG member.
RollinKrieg. A Roll and Write game set in WWII. It's actually part of a series from Solitary Division.
Cursed Castle. From the look of it, it has dice placement, dice manipulation, some exploration, fighting, retrieving artifacts to fight undead... Sounds fun.
The Catnip Kid, a game that is played with two d8, whose results you must place on a grid as if it were a domino. This might grant you bonuses and, if you fill a row or a column, you score points.
That's it for today! Of course I'll update things if more info get out so feel free to check later on if one game is of interest to you (or even simpler, just subscribe to the BGG page).
Apparently Towers of Yoma is still brewing even though it now seems to be called Project Yoma and to have embraced a fairly different aesthetic:
