A quick peek at KS to come | Solitaire Times

Here I will list a few games that are listed as both soloable and to be Kickstarter. Very little is known about them, but some are intriguing enough!

Bug Council of Backyardia

This is a soloable trick-taking game. The designer/publisher Patrick Engro already published a few games through KS, including Okazaki, another soloable trick-taking game.

NEXUM is an SF "civ-game" of sort, with very accessible rules and a short play time. Two caveats: despite being listed as a 1-4 players game, nothing is said about the solo game, and the box pictures say 2-4; lots of ratings appear to be fake. This one needs further investigation. Nice cover though!

Age of Galaxy

Let's stay in space a little more, with another SF civ-game, with a short play time as well. The game is by the same designer as Age of Civilization, of which it might be seen as the stand-alone sequel. Solo mode guaranteed for this one, it's printed on the box picture!

Since review samples are already out there (since March at least), I guess the campaign should happen very soon.

ADELE

Another space-themed game, in this one you must survive your own ship turned rogue. Since the game features secret action selection that the 'ADELE' player must try to guess and preempt, I don't know how it can work solo, but it's clearly listed as a Solitaire game.

Dragonbond: Lords of Vaala

This game is set in the universe of Dragonbond, which I never heard about before, and which features people bonding with dragons, quite unsurprisingly. The game has minis, dice-rolling, spells, armies and dragons, and is co-published by River Horse Games who are behind a few big licence games (Dark Crystal & Labyrinth, the recent Terminator board games, etc.) and by Draco Studios (War for Chicken Island). One of the designer is behind Terminator: Dark Fate, which is regarded as a good solo card game, the other seems specialized in big minis Ameritrash games.

Taelmoor

Yes, the shiny thing on the cover is a QR code: the game is supposed to be a physical/digital hybrid dungeon crawler with standees and a rich story with puzzles to solve and NPC to interact with through the app.

The Art of Boxing Clever

A game about boxing. You play cards and target specific body parts to knock out your opponent. Many expansions are planned on the line, including a Solo Player Mode ('Can you beat a bunch of cards?').

Misty Waters: At the Edge of World

I'll end this rather long list with a game from Poland about nautical exploration with ship minis and a large board featuring the map of the Misty Waters archipelago. The game is driven by card play, featuring drafting and deck customization. You'll be offered to hire crew members, fight with canons, find pirate treasures, encounter dark creatures, deal, gamble, go on a quest, and even buy new ships.
