It's been a very different last two weeks for me here in Ontario, Canada. We were just allowed last week to open our business again. Week 1 was slower with clients etc (which is ok to ease back into things), yet by the end of the week I was pooped surprisingly. It's funny how little changes can impact you so much. This week has been a busy week 2; clients, consults, calls, other work... It's been interesting finding the balance between work and play again. But all good overall. It'll come.
Part of that balance is my gaming. It's taken a hit once again as I transition back to real responsibilities each day. LOL I did get a solo round of Terraforming Mars in on Monday. I am still getting so close to completing all 3-parameters to score. So close! I also realized how many more corporations I still haven't used yet. Wow! That's pretty cool.
I also managed to somehow convince my 12 year old to let me teach her Res Arcana. I had to head back to work so we couldn't get a full game in, but I just wanted her to experience it. We played to 6 points due to time. The little bugger grabbed 2 points in our last round to tie me, and thankfully she really liked the game. So when I asked her the next night if she wanted to play she was all in - Big mistake on my part. I suffered, not a defeat, a pummeling 11-5. Ouch! She made sure she bragged to mom and big sister. LOL
As the weekend arrives, I'm excited to get a couple games to the table. I'm feeling heading back to Mars for sure, and also getting the "big guy" to the table (Scythe). :) As much as I love my daily gaming, being restricted to availability of times to play makes the excitement of playing build and the enjoyment that much greater. :) Can't wait.
PS - JW, I'll pop onto Steam to continue our second match of RFTG as well. :) For everyone else reading this; in our first game I felt really good, and was proud of myself how well I was doing. Suddenly, on the last turn of our game, JW moves in for a 1-point victory out of no where! Wow. I'll contain my excitement in this game until I (actually) get the win. :)
Lockdown and curfew in Holland still. Shops can "open" on appointment. The appointment has to be made at least four hours in advance, then at most two people at a time can stay in for ten minutes. I wonder how big a success this is. It would be way too stressful for me.
I still love Terraforming Mars. I've won the base game with all corporations, but having a hard time repeating that once I included Prelude. It's not just a good game, but also very relaxing activity for me. Doesn't matter if I lose.
It's good to hear a 12 year old can play Res Arcana. As for RftG, take your time.
