Ruins: Death Binder

@Zerbique Oh, I thought you were ridin' a train (platform? - or is a platform just one car?) to work every day during the week. Is the canteen a "breakroom"? Here, the room at work with the fridge, microwave, coffee machine, cafeteria-style tables & chairs, etc., is called a breakroom.

The canteen is a canteen, a real one. You go, look at which food is on offer that day, ask for a plate full of it, and then pay at the cashier before sitting at a table. I just love canteens. You don't need to make food, to wash dishes... And it's way cheaper than an actual restaurant.

And, yes, I take the train to go to work but I only go there once or twice a week. It's nice, to focus a bit more on the work, but I work just about as efficiently from home.

@Derek Arsenault Ah, well it's on the table, but I'm thinkin' it's too late for me to tackle it. But, I have read the rules and setup the game, so I'm ready for a show-down. It looks serious, though (I'm a little scared).

@Derek Arsenault I've played it a bit now (more later today) and I think it's pretty cool. One interesting mechanic is the "Map". (All Image Sources below are: Me).

You randomly place Adventure tokens on the all circles of the map. That top one just marks where you are and that Sidequest (optional) is on the back of many of the tokens. In order for you to 'proceed' towards the Boss, you need to 'resolve' various Tokens to make your way to the aforementioned Boss.

On that first Adventure Token, the exclamation point is an Event - draw an Event card and deal with it. It might be a Cave-In, which causes some Tokens to be replaced with impassible ones. It might be a Decision, Ambush, Obstacle, etc. The crossed swords mean fight a Monster. The campfire means you can Rest (there's 4 different things you can do while resting). If you resolve all the icons on a token, you remove it from the Map (possibly do the Sidequest) and advance yourself further into the Ruins towards the Boss.

My first impression is "I like it" (Cadet Stimpy Reviews ™). Actually I think I'm really gonna like it, but it seems as if it may be difficult to win, at least for me, anyway. I'll know more in a few of days.

I guess it's sorta considered a 'reverse deck builder', as you start with all the cards and thin your deck out as you play.

Unfortunately, you'll soon notice that I am not of a very obedient nature... Besides, 7-9 is family time! Gaming time is more 10-12, when I start to be too tired to go through a rulebook.
