Newbie

Hello folks,

I just found this site this evening, have had a browse through the posts and decided to sign up.

For reference, I came via some bitter searching re heavy handed moderation. Not BGG for once, but r/boardgames.

I won't bore you with the details, but I just thought I'd say hello, as I'd like to get involved in more of a community but just can't stomach the BGG forums/Reddit anymore.

I'm an exclusively solo player and have been since around 2017 when I realised that I much preferred playing solitaire.

I am a rabid fan of Star Trek Frontiers and am also a bit of a minimalist gamer (though have fallen off the wagon slightly of late).

I'm a writer and teacher irl and I look forward to having a good look around and maybe getting more involved with the chats in here!

Welcome! I could not get into Mage Knight, so feel free to post why the rethemed Star Trek Frontiers is the greatest game of all time, one of these days. 😁 I love hearing other opinions. And what other games do you enjoy?

It's a bit quiet on the website at the moment because of real life circumstances, but we'll get back to it.

I can be a bit hit and miss with timescales as I'm basically always working - or at least it feels like it, but I will get something up Asap.

I've been reading some reviews here and they sound great. I'm now seriously concerned that I may be getting interested in Tarot cards now, after reading some of Athena's posts. Honestly, if any parcels arrive for me in March, I will be in serious trouble!

I believe ST will meet your desire for a community of Gamers that won't impose any heavy-handed moderation on ya. I'm by far the most annoying and unruly member, but JW just ignores me and then I go away for a while. Problem solved. 🙂

Plus, for a smaller gaming community, you'll find a great deal of overall knowledge in addition to lots of timely news about the hobby.

Welcome HH! I'll second Mike's (Cadet Stimpy) comment. ST is easily the friendliest solo gaming community (or community in general) that I've come across online, with friendly solo gamers from around the world. Everyone shares their stories, thoughts and love for solo gaming here without the fear of being 'bullied' or having to deal with drama or negativity. 🤗
