Personally, I would rather visit Denmark as I really like this country!
Although last time I went there, they called security because of me. I nearly ended up in jail but instead, I spent the night for free in a hotel. Life is weird sometimes. Anyway now I'm reluctant to go there. Silly how one sour experience may trigger unwarranted judgmenets about a whole country.
I guess the next time I go to the Netherlands would be to visit JW (last time was for a job interview for a job I obviously didn't get, but it was a fun experience and they covered all trip-related expenses). It was all so unnervingly quiet with people happily biking on the shores of a river in a clean and perfect city. That's what the Netherlands really look like, I guess, even though this is NOT what my cousins seek in there during their yearly trip to Amsterdam.
Personally, I enjoy the dirtiness, wittiness, and messiness of Brussels much more, even though, at times, I sincerely wish people were using bins instead of everywhere else in public parks to throw their trash. And I wish people weren't taking drugs in my building's hall to shelter from the ever-rain. Otherwise I like it here!

I hear ya on the trash in the parks thing. What European term do you use for ‘litterbug’? I found it amusing that you’d wish they stopped doing it (me, too), whereas I wish I could throw them in a dungeon and TAZE them regularly for their extended stay, while slowly making deliveries from the landfill to their cell. Needless to say, litterbugs are a huge peeve for me. 😡 [Insert numerous profane descriptors here for the aforementioned litterbugs].
When you say people are taking drugs in the hall of your building, do you mean orally or intravenously? If it’s the latter, that’s really some shit.
Sorry for being so nosey, but I often find different scenarios in life (even if it’s not mine) interesting. I’m glad you like it there and hope your family does, too.
