You may remember 2-3 weeks ago I had the 'not dead' mouse issue. As it turned-out, I went with GK's idea, as I recalled a small 'field' near me, so Mr/Mrs Mouse was released there. Meanwhile, I thought it might be a good plan to leave the traps out, in case there were some 'stragglers'. Well, sadly, the body count is now 25 (minus the one I let loose)! Where are these suckers comin' from? I'm hopeful, as there haven't been any more for a few days now, so I may be pest-free (mammals, anyway - still plenty of spiders and earwigs), at last. It was kinda disturbing, day after day, another corpse. 😪 Why did those little f**kers have to pick my house to infest? Well, it seems to be behind me now, thank goodness. I actually found them to be cute (when alive).

Yeah, I suppose. I'm just a renter, so I wouldn't even have to pay for it - all the more reason to do it. But I wanted to be the one to beat them, not Mice Maulers, Inc.
Now that I'm thinkin' about it, I neglected to mention that over â…” of 'em were in the garage. I had no food downstairs, but I think they were comin' down for water. A humidifier connected to the AC has a little drip hose that goes to a drain in the concrete floor. Because of the unevenness around the drain, a small amount of water (but enough for some mice) would pool next to it sometimes. Yes, the oasis, amidst a land of perpetual dryness. I never found any mouse turds down there, either.
Because of all this, we were engaging in a significant mouse-hunt. The only interesting thing we found was a bunch of dry dog food behind the clothes dryer, all in one spot. Those little f**kers had a stash! 😄 Awesome!
I'm rambling... Anyway, no boxes in the garage had been gnawed through, and still no new, suddenly deceased rodents anywhere nearby, so I'm gonna hold-off on the exterminator. Besides, I didn't want a bunch of poison all over the place. "Oh, don't worry. As long as you don't eat it, it's of no danger to you." Of course not. What was I thinkin'?
